A PG-13 look at the adult entertainment industry? Who would have thought it possible? Leave it to adult film star Brad Benton and his team of able industry veterans to create The Money Shot Report, a witty, irreverent, no holds barred look at the wonderful world of pornóminus the penetration. From back stage at the Grabby Awards (itís like the Oscars for gay men who get paid screw on camera) to an intimate look at ìCocktails with the Stars,î a West Hollywood tradition at Mickeyís Nightclub that gets you up close and personal with your favorite performer, The Money Shot Report goes where no man has gone beforeóOK, so we know thatís a damn lie, but still. Itís an up close and intimate look at an industry that, well, sells instant gratification over ëgetting to know youí small talk.
Benton, he himself a multiple award winner in the industry, first got to flex his comedic muscles in last yearís Spunkíd, a Jackass style spoof on the wonderful world of porn that found Benton doing his best Ashton Kutcheróalbeit in the nude.
Here, heís more talk and less action, though youíd be hard pressed to find Mary Hart or any of the folks from Entertainment Tonight shoving their tongue down porn star Roman Heartís throat or lounging around in their undies surrounded by awards lavishing praise for their ability to climax.
Still, occasionally, Money Shot takes a decidedly more serious approach to the businessóBenton segues from accepting his Grabby Award from Chi Chi La Rue live in Chicago to sitting down with porn bad boy Billy Brandt to talk about his drug addition and subsequent three year absence from the screen.
Itís not rocket scienceóreally, how could anything that boasts more glitter encrusted g-strings than a viewing party for Showgirls be more than mindless entertainmentóbut itís an interesting approach to an industry few understand and to which even fewer have access. Benton is an inspired choice as host, debunking the myth that all a porn starís good for is a few quick jolliesóheís quick, sassy and a whole lot of fun.
And PG-13 rating aside, you see plentyótrust us.
