Trans Woman Claims Company Rescinded Job Offer Because She Used to Be a Man
A Houston transgender woman sued a would-be employer Monday for allegedly revoking a job offer after realizing she was once a man. Izza Lopez, 26, filed the lawsuit in federal court against Houston-based River Oaks Imaging and Diagnostic. She alleges employment discrimination.

California Student Discrimination Suit to be Decided
A decision will soon be made regarding the lawsuit filed by lesbian student Charlene Nguon. Nguon, 18, is suing her former principal because he told her mother about her sexual orientation after suspending her for being affectionate with her girlfriend on school grounds.

Fired Gay Superintendent Files Discrimination Suit Against Chicago School District
Lambda Legal filed a discrimination complaint Wednesday against a suburban Chicago school district and its board, saying they fired the former superintendent because he is openly gay. The Associated Press reports that Bremen High School District 228 has insisted Rich Mitchell was fired last month for other reasons, including a joke video that portrayed teachers as killers, strippers and drug users.

Minority Groups Not Satisfied With Rosie O'Donnell's Apology For Badly Imitating Chinese
Rosie O'Donnell, a regular on the television talk show 'The View,' apologized Thursday on the show for mocking the Chinese language after being slammed by protests from Asian Americans across the country. 'I'm sorry for those people who felt hurt,' O'Donnell said, reports the San Francisco Chronicle.

Fifth Discrimination Suit Filed Against Embattled Lesbian Fire Chief
A fifth firefighter has filed a lawsuit against embattled Minneapolis Fire Chief Bonnie Bleskachek, alleging defamation, violations of data privacy and discrimination. The Pioneer Press reports that the suit was filed Thursday in Hennepin County District Court by Shanna Hanson, who has been with the Fire Department for 15 years -- the last six as a captain. Her suit also names the city as a defendant.
