NY Police Say Gay Bashing Victim Set Up Through Chatroom

Four young men were arrested for luring a gay man to a remote location with an online promise of a sexual encounter, then attempting to rob him — an incident that left the victim in critical condition after he ran into traffic to escape the attack. Police had said they were investigating the Sunday attack as a possible bias incident.

Gay Advocates Say Bullying Contributed to Rash of School Violence
White House officials participating in a conference on school violence next week must address bullying and name-calling, says a gay rights organization. Bullying reportedly contributed to at least one of the recent school attacks and has played a part in many of the nation's most tragic episodes of school violence.

Lambda Legal Seeks Justice for Gay Man Who Was Beaten
In court papers last week, Lambda Legal seeks recovery for damages suffered by Brett Timmerman after he was attacked because he is gay. Timmerman, a student at UW-Platteville, at the time of the assault, was about to walk into a local sandwich shop when his would-be attackers called him a 'faggot’ and struck him in the head before pushing him to the ground.
