New Hampshire Residents Against Same-Sex Marriage, Poll Says
The majority of New Hampshire is against same-sex marriage, according to a recent poll conducted by Research 2000 for the Concord Monitor. Out of the six hundred people polled, fifty-five percent said they were against gays marrying.

New Jersey Governor Signs Same-Sex Marriage Law
New Jersey Gov. Jon S. Corzine signed legislation Thursday granting same-sex couples all the benefits and responsibilities of state sanctioned marriage, but not the title. When the law goes into effect Feb. 19, New Jersey will become the third state offering civil unions to same-sex couples and the fifth allowing same-sex couples some version of marriage.

Same-Sex Marriage Ban Supporters Push Massachusetts Lawmakers to Vote
Advocates of a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage in Massachusetts asked the state's highest court Wednesday to push lawmakers to vote on putting the measure on the ballot. John Hanify, an attorney for Gov. Mitt Romney, said supporters are asking the Supreme Judicial Court to clarify what the obligations of legislators are.
